Poetry from an inexperienced poet
I wrote this poem during math tutorial today, in between waiting for the answers to appear on the board. I'm semi-inspired by Beren and Luthien from the Silmarillion (If you read Tolkien, you'll know who Beren and Luthien are.) And I would like to dedicate this poem to a pair of "lovebirds" in our class (hmmm.... wonder who?) Just kidding. *grinz cheekily*
Oh, I'll let you know where to find the man among the coffee beans in a week's time, to give everyone a chance to try finding him. Bugged by pangs of guilt for dividing my attention between work and poetry in school today.
But here it goes:
SERENADE FOR LOVERS Breath of wind that softly flees Stirs surging waves upon the seas Rustling leaves upon the trees Upon a star-speckled moonlit night Shining high above and gleaming white On two solitary figures far in sight As they wandered along with clasped hands Treading barefoot on velvet sands Of these hidden sacred virgin lands
Time drew to a standstill As the two stood upon a lone hill Gazing upon the other till Both felt no greater love than this Or knew no deeper joy or bliss Of Love's first tender kiss
The waves sang them a song of love The heavens poured forth glory from above Two hearts as one doth move While the pair whirled and danced Together leapt and pranced Beneath moondust that enhanced
The salty smell of swirling seas and Starlit sands with Soft-scented Soul-searching Love.
